NoindexWatch

Bulk indexability checker

Paste up to 10 URLs, one per line. For each one you get the HTTP status and whether a noindex, a robots.txt rule, an error or a redirect keeps it out of Google.

What counts as not indexable

  • noindex in a meta robots tag or an X-Robots-Tag header, for all search engines or for Googlebot or Bingbot.
  • robots.txt blocks Googlebot from the URL, or robots.txt itself returns a 5xx error or can't be reached.
  • Status: the URL, or the end of its redirect chain, returns 4xx or 5xx.

A canonical that points to another URL, more than 3 redirects or a robots.txt block for Bingbot show up as the main problem but don't count as not indexable: Google can still index the page, or the URL it points to.

Search Console says Excluded by 'noindex' tag? Read where that noindex usually comes from and how to fix it.

We fetch each URL and its site's robots.txt once, as NoindexWatchBot, one URL at a time per site. JavaScript is not run. Results are not stored.
